Youth and Children's Ministries
We believe strongly in preaching the Gospel and teaching the word of God to our children. We also want life in the church to be a special, meaningful experience for them as they grow up. As a result, the Lord has raised up quite a bit of Youth Ministry here at Fellowship Bible Church.
Sunday School
During Pastor Lou’s messages on Sundays, elementary school age kids have classes where they learn the Word at their level. God has blessed us with a great facility with classrooms and a congregation with people gifted to teach. There are three classes:
- Pre-Kindergarten (Ages 3-5)
- Kindergarten through 2nd Grade
- 3rd through 5th grade
Kids’ Bible Club
A very popular weekly event! This is for ages 4-12 and is run by Lou’s wife Roberta (who was an elementary school teacher for 11 years!). The Club meets every Thursday night from 7:00 - 8:30 (during the adults’ Prayer & Bible Study time). The kids sing, memorize Bible verses, hear a Bible lesson, do crafts and play games. They occasionally prepare a song to be sung in front of the church on a Sunday morning.
Jr. and Sr. High Youth Group
Every Wednesday night, from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m., we participate in this excellent ministry hosted by First Baptist Church of Metuchen. The Group is led by Ed Slack, Youth Pastor at First Baptist. For ages 11-18, the entire group meets together for worship and then splits (by Jr. and Sr. High) for Bible study. This group of about 75 young people is, according to Pastor Slack, “one-third from our church (First Baptist), one-third from other churches, and one-third from no church at all”. It’s a terrific ministry and we are blessed to be able to go and be part of it! Pastor Lou drives a van with kids every Wednesday night down to Metuchen (about 15 minutes) and back.
Nursery
Nursery care is available during every service. The Nursery is staffed by FBC members and is open to children newborn through 3 years old.
Special Events
Twice per year (at Easter and Christmas) we have children’s outreaches. This gives the kids in the church a chance to invite their friends to a special event that is both fun and evangelistic, as the Gospel is clearly presented. Also, during the summer, we hold a weeklong Vacation Bible School.
